When planning a couple’s trip to Las Vegas, there are many options to consider when choosing a place to stay. Where is the hotel located? Is it on the Las Vegas strip? Is there a pool? What type of restaurants are available? What about shows, bars, and nightlife? What is the target demographic of the property? Is this truly a “Las Vegas” style/feel hotel? As we narrowed our search for the perfect Vegas strip hotels, we kept finding that The Venetian Hotel Las Vegas was at the top of our list for the majority of our search criteria. We have stayed at multiple places, but have determined that The Venetian offers the best suites in Las Vegas for your couples trip!
We will walk you through why there is no need to research any other Las Vegas strip hotels. Read through our recommendation and realize what we have already determined… The Venetian Las Vegas is the place to stay offering the best suites in town for your romantic, couples trip!
THE LOCATION: VENETIAN HOTEL ON THE STRIP
The Venetian Hotel & Casino is located in the heart of the Las Vegas strip. It is easily accessible from the airport and entrances on Las Vegas Blvd. As you walk into The Venetian’s grand lobby, your eyes will immediately begin to scan the beautiful marble floors and walls all the way up to the painted ceiling.
If you’ve ever been to Venice, flashbacks will begin in your mind. There are sculptures, fountains, and paintings to catch your attention as you being the check-in process. The lobby is a perfect spot to capture some shots of The Venetian’s grand details.
*Travel tip* Arrive in an “off” time. We arrived around 10:00 am and the lobby was quite empty for check-in. While our room wasn’t quite ready, we were able to get everything in-line for an expedited check-in later. Trust us, this will save you quite a bit of time!
Now that you are all checked in… Let the fun begin! Start by heading down the marble hallway toward the casino floor where you will find all the casino games, bars, restaurants, and stores. It’s amazing how much can be packed under one artfully detailed roof!
LAS VEGAS HOTEL SUITES ARE STANDARD AT THE VENETIAN!
Once you make your way past all the sights and sounds of the casino floor, head up the elevators to your suite! As in any popular city, space is rare to find at an affordable price point. The Venetian defies the stereotype of small hotel rooms by offering a bedroom with separate living/dining area. This suite is the standard room at The Venetian which is why this is consistently one of the top hotels in Las Vegas! This is the perfect spot to relax with your significant other on your romantic trip.
What makes this the best suite in Las Vegas? Check out the gorgeous decor and spacious living area. The room is well decorated combining a bit of old-world Vegas with modern decor. The furniture is well maintained and offers the perfect spot to enjoy our coffee each morning while looking out onto the strip.
The large window offers spectacular views of the mountains in the distance and the Las Vegas strip!
The bathroom gives more of an old-Vegas feel with golds and marble all around. As a couple, one of our favorite features of a room is the double sink! The tub and shower are both spacious enough for a romantic evening in. Once again the best suite in Las Vegas!
THE DORSEY BAR – CRAFT COCKTAILS IN VEGAS
The Venetian is in process of creating social spaces for patrons to come “experience” everything the hotel and casino have to offer. One of the newer bar spaces is The Dorsey. We spent the better part of the night here relaxing on the oversized leather couches while sipping on our uniquely crafted cocktails. The setting is the opposite of the club scene that may come to mind when thinking of Las Vegas. We felt as though we stepped into a swanky spot in NYC or Chicago! What an amazing place for craft cocktails to start your date night.
The cocktail menu is extensive with libations sure to please any palette. For us, there was a perfect combination of whiskey cocktails for him and bubbly cocktails for her!
Brian’s personal favorite was the Gold Rush consisting of bourbon, honey, and lemon. The Harajuku and the Penicillin were very close runner’s up. You really can’t go wrong with any of their whiskey cocktails!
Amanda enjoyed the Airmail consisting of rum, honey, lime & champagne. Honestly the Northern ’75 was a close second with Gin, lemon, melon & champagne!
The Dorsey offers digital art throughout which changes as the night progresses. There is a bookshelf in the back half of The Dorsey which includes a steam fireplace which is the perfect place to have a romantic time with your date while having some drinks.
Overall quite a romantic setting to start your date night and another reason the Venetian is one of the best hotels in Vegas for couples. It gives you a reason to leave the best suites in Vegas for a few hours!
VENETIAN LAS VEGAS RESTAURANTS: OVER 40 DIFFERENT OPTIONS!
There is certainly no shortage of options when it comes to Venetian Las Vegas restaurants. There are over 40 restaurants sure to satisfy any craving or taste you and your date may have. While it was impossible to try them all in our short weekend. We will show you a couple spots to enjoy a romantic dinner.
YARDBIRD
Talk about Southern charm in Las Vegas! Yardbird definitely delivers an upscale Southern dining experience from cocktails to dessert. We started off our meal by trying out some of their “Southern Classic” cocktails – a bourbon lemonade and a classic old fashioned!
We couldn’t miss the opportunity to indulge in the chicken & watermelon & waffles! The portions are hearty and the main with slaw and mac ‘n cheese was the perfect meal for us to share!
CHICA
Newly opened restaurant Chica was a stunner. We approached Chica with no expectation other than the fact we knew celebrity chef Lorena Garcia was at the helm. What we found was elevated Latin cuisine that really knocked our socks off! Each dish was better than the next!
First up were craft cocktails. Are you seeing the theme with cocktails in the Venetian? Each handcrafted cocktail was better than the last! Their version of a Peruvian pisco sour with rosemary cinnamon scented dry ice fog was not only delicious but added an aromatic experience to the cocktail. The Expat is their version of a Manhattan!
For starters, we indulged in ceviche, calamari, and empanadas. We were practically licking the plate clean as we waited for our mains to arrive.
Brian ordered the Porchetta with crispy yuca hash with a side of fries complete with chile piquin. Let me pause a moment while you take it all in. Imagine that flavor explosion with each bite! It was totally amazing and we couldn’t get enough!
Amanda’s dish was hands-down the best lamb we have ever had! It was pepita crusted Colorado lamb with a pumpkin seed, herb crust, mole verde, crispy squash blossoms & grilled calabaza. Yes, all of those flavor combinations on one plate. It was to die for!
Chica is a must visit while in Vegas. No, seriously, Chica is a must visit while in Vegas! Even if you are not staying in the hotel, be sure to make your way over to the Venetian Vegas restaurants: cocktails at The Dorsey followed by a meal at Chica. You won’t be disappointed and it will be the ultimate date night!
DELMONICO STEAKHOUSE
We didn’t eat at Delmonico Steakhouse, but we did stop in there for a drink.
They have a Weller Antique 107 “pick” available. Definitely worth the time to stop in for a drink. To my Weller Fan Boys, this is highly worth a trip!
VENETIAN LAS VEGAS POOLS
Talk about pools! We lost count of the number of pools at The Venetian resort Las Vegas. So many areas to choose from for catching some rays and a mid-day nap outside.
As you step outside, you don’t even begin to realize the size of the property. Situated between The Venetian’s buildings are endless cabanas, chairs, and pools. There is a huge pool with great views of the casino as soon as you step outside. Keep making your way back along the property and you will find more pools that are different shapes and sizes. Pool areas also have hot tubs and bars for all your food & beverage needs!
THE AQUATIC CLUB
We spent a full day in the exclusive Aquatic Club. This is a private section of the pool area featuring day beds & private cabanas for rent along with music, entertainment, and full-service food & beverage.
Make your way down the red carpet and through the hanging ropes to find your private oasis of luxury at this Vegas hotel pool. The Aquatic Club features a large hot tub, pools, private waitstaff with a select menu of cocktails and food made only for the Aquatic Club.
The waitstaff is extremely quick with service and will help you out with all of your needs.
The AquaticClub features a live DJ mixing up the music for everyone to enjoy while relaxing or partying in this private area. This area is great for a couple, like us, or for a group of people such as a bachelor/bachelorette party to escape the crowds while being treated like royalty.
Everyone was having a great time and it seemed as though everyone in this area became our friends as we enjoyed the day relaxing, eating, playing water games, drinking and singing along to the DJ’s music. Refreshing drinks served in a watermelon? We’ll take 2, please!
What a wonderful way to spend a relaxing afternoon during our couples trip at The Venetian in Las Vegas!
VENETIAN RESORT HOTEL: ARE WE IN VENICE OR LAS VEGAS?!?
Earning the title of the best suite in Las Vegas not only considers the room itself but the setting of the hotel. The Venetian certainly pays homage to its namesake, Venice!
Indoors along the promenade are several shops and eateries that are on either side of a waterway. It gives you the feeling of strolling along the canals in Venice.
There are several gondolas throughout with gondoliers ready to take you on a romantic float along the waterway.
As you continue to stroll through The Venetian Casino Resort, you will be amazed at its size and luxury shopping options. We stumbled up this art installation called “Another Sky” by Anne Patterson. It was a huge Waterfall Atrium with 33 miles of satin ribbon! Fifteen colors and 3,760 individual ribbons make up this beautiful piece. The Venetian also offers entertainment throughout with nightly shows. For the perfect add-on to your date night, BAZ is a musical mash-up of love stories.
Overall spending a couple days at The Venetian where we not only had the best suites in Las Vegas but also amazing food, drink, entertainment, pools, and surroundings was the perfect couples get-a-way for us. We loved experiencing one of the best luxury hotels in Vegas for our date nights! We will certainly be back and now Las Vegas makes the list of our top quick romantic trip options!

We wandered through the Venetian when we stayed at the Mirage back in 2010, and I said back then that I would want to stay there if we ever return! Now its definitely top of my list 🙂
Wow what an amazing hotel, the suites are so large.
We’ve explored some of the lobby and casino areas of the Venetian, but haven’t stayed there. I think we’re ready to fix that oversight now! Wow, what a great suite. We’ve been talking about a quick Vegas escape…this just might bump that plan to the top of the list. 🙂
Great choice! We usually go to Vegas at least once a year since it’s a doable weekend trip from San Diego. The Venetian along with its sister property Palazzo is one of our favorites especially because of the suites for our family of four. Everything else is a major bonus including its pools and location. It’s also one of the few remaining hotels that don’t charge a parking fee on the strip (yet). Glad you had a wonderful stay.
I’ve never been to Vegas. And I have really never been tempted to go. However…this makes me want to go there! It really does remind me of Venice. The gondolas, Doge’s Palace, it looks like they have all the details down! I love that there are so many pools and restaurants. It’s truly an escape and a holiday I’d like to take!
